Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best way start?
We feel the best way is to download the app from the home page, then set up an account with our platform software - Kriya. Once you have that account you can choose a class to get you started. Press "Book" and this will then take you to an option to pay, chose what package suits you best, (and if it's your first time, take advantage of 5 classes in 14 days for $25) pop in your payment details, and you are all booked in. Once you have completed this, you will have the app on your phone, signed in to your personal account, to easily book classes.
If the app is not for you, simply head to the Timetable & Bookings page and you can book through the desktop platform.

I am a complete beginner.... can I attend any class?
Absolutely - you don't need experience, you gain experience. We are there to help, guide and teach, which is exactly what we will do. I love to remind people that every single person has a first at every single thing.... there is always a first time to "do" something/anything. Take it easy on yourself and go in knowing that there will be no expectations, no judgement and no competitiveness from those around you, so don't put any on yourself. It's not if you can touch your toes.... it's what you learn on the way down.

What do I wear?
We want you to be comfortable - and with Pure Bliss it really depends on the class, if you are coming to a physical class like Vinyasa, Hatha or VinYin - you may want clothing that is not too loose, like tights and a fitted top. If you are coming to chill out at Yin or Restorative, then come in your PJ's if you like..... we won't judge. Shoes are always left at the door, outside the studio space, at every single class... please.

What do I bring?
Best to bring your own mat, however, we do have a few studio mats to loan. There are so many mats on the market that it might be beneficial to use one of ours until you get a feel for what you like and if Yoga is your jam - then chat to your teacher, because if it's something you are going to do often, a good quality mat makes an incredible difference to your practice. We only sell good quality yoga specific mats in studio, but there are so many mats out there at a varying range of prices. Bring a water bottle and a towel to those sweaty classes, and that's pretty well it. If it's a special class or a studio retreat, we will let you know what to bring to these at the time.

Should I book ahead?
Not that this is an essential requirement, but we really do appreciate it. Booking ahead lets your teacher know to expect you, especially if you are running late. Equally important is to cancel if you can't make it, so we don't set up for you, or wait. It's also a great way to let you know if something happens to the class.... life is life and stuff happens to all of us, including your teacher.
Doors open 15 minutes prior to class and will be locked
5 minutes after commencement. If the doors are locked, please do not knock, class has started and you are now too late to attend - please be on time.

What if I know I'll be late or need to leave early?
If you know you will be late, please message your teacher prior to arrange the doors to be left unlocked, lock on your way in, enter quietly and set up close to the entrance. Please cancel your attendance if you will be more than 10 minutes late. The teacher may have set up a spot for you with equipment needed, so walk over to this spot and roll out your mat as quietly as possible, no need to excuse yourself - all is good - you made it. If your life commitments mean you can only attend half of the class... then we ask you give this class a miss, there will be another class for you to enjoy when you have the time.

Will Yoga and Pilates improve my fitness and strength?
Absolutely. We are a Yoga studio, so our classes are not generically labelled "yoga" therefore if you chose your classes to compliment your goal, then absolutely. A weekly combination of Vinyasa, Hatha and Vin Yin will see you sweat, stretch, balance, puff and challenge yourself physically. Mix this with some Yin (which we maintain is so important for everyone) and Meditation, then you have body.... mind.... soul.... sorted.
The beauty of working with Yoga is that you have the benefit of learning how to breathe to compliment and sustain movement. You also greatly  improve flexibility, balance and strength. If you have not been to Yoga Studio classes, give it a go, you will be very surprised at the physical challenge of some classes.
